Holaaa!
First thing's first - I want to say mil gracias to those who genuinely support!
The most recent part of my story begins with my parents. They got together while living in Los Angeles, California in the 1980's. They ended up leaving and headed north to Vancouver, B.C., which is where I was born, however, I spent most of my childhood growing up in the Jane and Finch community.
My family are originally from Nicanahuac (Nicaragua) I am (very proudly) of mixed ancestry/ethnicity including: Indígena (Indigenous), European, African and East Asian.
I move through the world as a Latina and displaced Indigenous woman.
Sobre mi
I have always loved to write - poems and experiences in particular. These days, I express my creativity through Jícarx and also my self-produced and self-hosted podcast, “Whether You Like it or Not”.
As a settler and Treaty person in Tkarōn:to, I feel strongly about sharing my ongoing learnings with other members of the Latinx/a/e/o community.

However, my favourite and most cherished role in life is being the proud mother of A and Z, and eldest daughter to my dear mother and matriarch of my family, Yamileth Silva (if you know me personally, you get this!)
